THis thing was among my dad's tools that I purchased today. It is along the lines of a brick carrier but very different. Noone knew my dad had it, my mom found it among other things. It has a patent number on it but the number returns no results. Really wondering what it is.

301093

It kind of looks like a log/pole roller (roll the log into the correct position to be run through a sawmill).

I thought along those lines as well, my dad owned a saw mill at one time. I am hoping someone can give a definitive answer.

I think you are thinking of a peavey 301094 At first glance it appeared to be a brick carrier, but on closer examination I don't think it is.

Looks like a cant hook. A peavey is a cant hook with a point. Cant hooks have...well...a hook :)

Honestly, it seems a little short and flimsy for that job, but maybe that's all you need once the log is on a level surface, like in a mill.

Look at the hand grip. The finger groves are a clue as to how a hand is placed on it and in what direction it is likely "pulled". That is why I thought it was a very old peavey (log roller).

I think Shawn got this one. Portable bead breaker.

Thank you, definitely a portable bead breaker for changing the tires on rims. How do you use it? Unable to find any video or Google instructions.

The bottom end is hooked on the inside of the rim; the center pry is at the joint between the tire and rim. Downward pressure pushes the bead off of the seal surface.

That's cool! How do you get the tire back on?

Take it to a tire dealer! I changed tires on my 1100cc street bike once, I vowed never to do that again!

It looks to me like a male human in his late 60's to early 70's.
