The Mere Mortal Woodwork posted a video for making and advent calendar.

I really didn't have any other projects going so I made 2 of them, the grand-kids love them.
There is not much to it, some MDF and a little time.

I glued up 2, 3/4" poplar board to make the 1 1/2" little boxes which worked out very well. I added the start on top for a little added flash.

Make a template for the wrapping paper, it sure saves a lot of time, the template is like 7" x 3 1/4" if I remember right.

You can get the basic plans here.

Nice.

You've made something the kids can put their hands on,
and remember you. Good man.

Very nice Bill, I have seen a lot of different types of advent calendars and this one ranks right up there. Nicely done.

One thing I didn't really say anything about was the boxes, you drill a 1 1/4" hole in them and then you place a little something in the box before you wrap them.
I put some candy in some, coins in others and I also get some little trinkets in others.

Well the way they are screwing it up with all the changes it maybe something I just stop watching. Lets face it, I can win every race but one and still not be the champ, what kind of a deal is that.

I do have some projects now, I have made 5 of the advent calendars now and have to make 4 more.
