Okey everyone, I got the table finished! I used Trans Tint #2006 dye, and 8 coats of wipe on poly over the QS white oak. I am very pleased with how it came out! Now for the chairs to match, starting them tomorrow. The top is 1 and 3/4 thick, and the leggs are 3 and half inches square. 6 foot long by 42 inches wide. The support rails underneath are also 1 and 3/4 thick. Thanks for looking, and I will keep you posted on the chairs! The pie safe in the background on one of the pictures is a piece I made last winter, with QS white oak. They match well.

Michael,

Great design, execution and finish. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress on the chairs, also.

Love that quarter sawn w/o material. Great job!! Pie safe looks like we may have used the same pattern?? Woodsmith I think.

Simply fantastic! The rays really "pop" with your choice of finish. Very nice job and excellent craftsmanship.

Michael,
Nice looking table, well constructed. Based on your dimensions, the chairs must be rather large also. What style/design are you going to use for the chairs?

The rays have it! Wow! You must be happy with that one.

The chairs will be a matching set to the table...arts and crafts with the slats in the sides.

The rays on the top really jump out, don't they? :) Again, the inlay is a nice touch. Are you putting 6 shairs around it or four?

Excellent job, Michael. I liked the design and scale based on the pics you posted before you finished it, and now with the finish on it, it really looks sweet. It's also a table I'd want to be under in an earthquake. ;) Looks very stout.

I like a good strong solid table and this one definately is that.

Great Job!
