Decided to spend the day trying to master thimble making. First two attempts in Zebrawood and Padauk cracked...too much grain and turned too thin. So, for the 3rd try, thought I’d use some harder material...1" cast acrylic rod. This little guy measures about 1" high and 3/4" wide at the base.

Very nice Ed.. way to tiny for a beginner like me.. but one day ;)

hey...that's pretty cool Ed! I wonder how maple or ebony...maybe African Blackwood would behave. Very neat

Yes, I'll be experimenting with some fine grain woods next...should work out.
