Like it says, It fell off the ladder to the floor. Now if you put any pressure on the drill bit it just slips. Guessing something in the clutch broke from the impact. Hartville Hardware wants $35 to give me an estimate of what it will cost to repair and $60 / hr for labor. I can get a bare tool for $89.

Repair or replace is my dilemma? Thoughts??

Thanks

George

Sounds like an opportunity to take it apart and do it yourself if they will just sell you the parts you need.

Dumb head figured it out. The two speed switch was in between the two speeds, the drill ran but the chuck would not turn. Put the switch in one speed and it works.

Dumb head.

Nice to know that decent tools can take a lot of abuse though!

I'm glad to hear that's all that happened. I own a Milwaukee M12 drill, too.

I've dropped my M12 from 24 feet, scuffed but unharmed. Glad to hear its was fine, seems like a pretty tough package.

My 20 year old 18 volt Milwaukee has been dropped from height many times (8 or 9 at least) and still, to this day, runs fine. I have bought new batteries and at least two chargers during this time but the drill/driver just keeps on going.

Milwaukee is the only brand of cordless gun I'll buy. I've probably had a dozen of them.
I use them everyday and they never have failed me ever.
Dropped one off a 2 story roof 6 months ago and it still works fine.
The biggest problem is that the batteries wear out before the tool does and the replacement batteries never seem to last.

No, not Dumb Head. More experienced and wiser.
