I was hoping someone can help me. This weekend we replaced a sliding door the windows on either side of it in a breakfast nook off of our kitchen. The windows are 45 degrees from the door. I'd like to do something other than the standard mitered ranch casing that was originally there. We'd prefer to go with something that is more Victorian as that is the architecture of the house

I haven't seen any good examples or pictures through my internet searches.

Thanks,
Wes

The new stuff is not very Victorian looking ,so I would not costume it. Seems odd that the top of the windows are higher
than the sliding doors, so I would start by putting Roman shades on the windows to down play that. Hard to say anything
beyond that without seeing the rest of the room.

Are you familiar with SF Victoriana (http://www.sfvictoriana.com/)? They might have something for you.

not seeing the Victorian as Mel said. Not much room on the side for wide casements ether. And yes its a shame the header don't line up for a tied together bay trim. its best the have the trim all the same in a room so unless your changing up the house why put a miss match in?

Try this link, it shows how to make Victorian Style Door casings (http://www.myoldhouseonline.com/forum/topics/jack-mitered-victorian?xg_source=activity). A google search for "Victorian Door casings" will give you a number of images to choose from.
