For me. A lady has these burls. First is white oak. 3' x 3' and 1000 Lbs approx. Smaller one is box elder. She wants me to shoot her a price. I said $200 for the pair. She lives 3 hrs away and will need to find a way to meet half way.

Any suggestions on price? http://www.sawmillcreek.org/webkit-fake-url://d490c7f7-03a7-4ca2-ac67-283d675fbd53/imagejpeghttp://www.sawmillcreek.org/webkit-fake-url://37be38ac-b66e-4f07-a996-741e2aeed309/imagejpeg

The pictures are too small to see much of anything...?

For me, the $200 might not be too bad....IF the burls were just cut AND sealed properly AND I didn't have to travel at least 1 1/2 hours each way to go get them. As it is.... They are probably cracked and the drive expense would be a deal breaker for me. Just my opinion. I buy quite a bit of cubed and sealed blanks when I go to SWAT and for shear volume of wood, that price isn't too bad, but without the guarantee of "good wood" it is a gamble.

Thanks, Scott. That is what I was thinking. It's a gamble. Rocks, rot, who knows? It has to be a bargain to make it worthwhile. I have heard back from the owner, and he felt like the $200 offer was too low. I think it's a no-go for me.
