Just wanted to say hi, I'm new to this site. Looks like a decent site, so I signed on. I have been reading woodnet for the past 3+ years, but like the looks of this site. Woodnet has a lot of activity and great information, but too much OT in the regular forums for my taste.

I do a lot more home improvement than woodworking, but I enjoy the discussions anyway.

I have been a member of this forum for a long time, but did not spend a lot of time here, until about a month ago (for the same reason you stated in your post). I really appreciate this forum, and spend all my time here now.

Welcome!

Great to have you at the Creek, Tim! Everyone of any skill level is more than welcome here and, if your tendencies are closer to carpentry than woodworking, per se, don't feel like the Lone Ranger! A LOT of us are kind of "cross-over" in that respect anyhow!:) SMC is host to a fine bunch of folks willing to share their knowledge on many levels. Come often, stay long and please, don't forget that we really love pics around here!:D

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'll post pictures of the few projects I've done when I get on my main computer, and get an avatar.

Tim,

A big welcome to ya. You will like it much better here with folks with a "real" interest and "real" moderators to keep it that way. There is not a better more helpful group anywhere.

Look forward to seeing you around.

Here are a few pictures that I could come up with on short notice of the types of things I have been doing in my spare time. My 3rd and last child is heading off to college this fall, so the last 20+ years have been dedicated mainly to family and home improvement, with a little WW thrown in.

This is the first project ever, built from pecan. I did this when Woodhaven was first started, and the owner Brad Witt conducted WW classes.

Welcome to the Creek, Tim. Nice work, too. Thanks for the pics. I can tell you've run a hammer and saw a time or two.
