Gonna need a good builder in Northern Virginia

We will be looking for a good builder in the Falls Church Va area. We want to build an in-law quarters on our daughters property. Think pool house. We would like something around 900 sq ft on the ground floor with a full basement (shop).

I can't help you with the building thing, but have you checked with the local jurisdiction to determine if they will allow such a structure for both setbacks and other factors? That's a very built up area (my wife grew up in Falls Church) and they may or may not have some pretty strict zoning regulations. It's good to know about anything like that before you get too far into a project.

I agree with Jim to make sure you dot i's and cross t's in that area.

My good friend and his 3 brothers grew up in FC, one of which is a contractor. PM me and I'll send you his contact info. Sounds like it might be up his alley.

I already checked with FC. It's a one acre lot in the historic district. Setbacks aren't a problem. I've met with one of the city engineers and he says it's doable.
