Bandsaw electrical question

I have a 1hp 110volt motor on my bandsaw. The time delay fuse on the motor blew. The current fuse is an FNQ-15 amp fuse. MENARDS carries a similar size fuse but it is an FNM-15amp. Is that fuse okay to use or do I need to special order the FNQ fuse from an online supplier?

Hey Ricc,
I had one blow maybe two months ago, different size amps, think it was a twenty. Anyway, I found it on ebay, and paid 6 bucks with shipping. I would stick with exactly whats in there, it could work, but... it could be quick vs slow. If you get the same one, it will go in the fuse block and get you back running.

According to this chart http://www.automationdirect.com/static/specs/efusexref.pdf , the operating voltage for an FNQ-15 is 500 volts and the operating voltage for an FNM-15 is 250.

Now according to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuse_(electrical)#Rated_voltage and it verifies what I vaguely remembered from my electronics training decades ago, the operating voltage is the voltage of fuse has to be higher than the voltage it would see open circuit if it blew so that it wouldn't arc internally and function properly.

In short, it would probably work sort term but if it was me I'd order a replacement and change it out when the new one arrived.
