this one i finished last week, norfolk pine, about 14" tall or so. wall thickness 1/8", about 140 hours in 12 sessions in my watco barrel, let dry, dip again. buff inbetween,

the platter at that pint only spent 12 hours in oil, you can see the difference the soaking makes. on average, the finishing takes me about 2 weeks or more.
the 4th pic is an 18" bowl, 3/32" thick, it's been 10 days since i finished turning it, it's been in oil now for about 7 sessions of 12 hours and i will do another 8 or so, it is getting really translucent.

few more pics of my first ones to follow. not sure if i posted those ones before, but to be continued

Those look great Sascha.

Hey I tried the Kirklands soap out on some aromatic cedar and it worked great. I was surprised how smooth it cut. No pictures because I screwed it up later doing something stupid, but that is beside the point.
Anyway, thanks for the tip.
