I don't know why I'm posting this, but it's something I'm interested in.

I have been aware that the door proportions in Greene and Greene houses were in some cases different from what I'm used to seeing.

I found a paper written by Briane A Shane (Indiana University of Pennslyvania). Google it, it's on the internet.

He states that the Greene brothers would make doors 6'-4" tall if they needed to in order to achieve certain architectural effects.

I think that is indeed interesting. Some others might find this to be intriguing as well. His observation is on page 14 of the paper.

In today's practice, all passage doors are 6'-8" tall.

Interesting.

Also - FLW was a relatively short man. If you want a real-life example of this, walk the campus of Florida Southern College in Lakeland.

The office buildings, and especially the covered walkways, always made me want to duck as I walked through them.

Fascinating story behind the architecture, and a beautiful campus. The two chapels in particular.
