Not sure what drug it was, it was supposed to be for depression. And I certainly hope the drug is helping people.

But when they got to the side-effects, they mentioned "triple swallowing" as if it is a normal thing. Like, we've all heard of triple swallowing, and this drug causes it.

Pretty amazing a drug can cause that reaction!

Can't remember the drug offhand, but one of its side effects is "the urge to gamble"...

I swear there is one with a side effect of sudden death listed and at the end of the lightning speed monologue it says to consult your doctor if any of these occur.

Yeah Right! "Hi doc, I just died... "

Many of those side effect citations make me want to tell my doctor no if they ever want me to take them.

It's for Cialis.

It's for Cialis.

In that case, maybe it would be worth the risk?

I'd never heard of triple swallowing. I could only imagine is was something my friends did to incite burping contests when we were kids.

"Trouble" makes much more sense!

The side effects from these drugs are often worse than the disease or condition its supposed to fix.

The side effects from these drugs are often worse than the disease or condition its supposed to fix.Yep - I had this real irritating discussion with my (now former) doctor over side effects.
His opinion was I should keep taking the medication. My opinion was the crap wasn't doing much good anyhow, is expensive as sin and has a bunch of nasty side effects.
He had me stop at the desk on the way out to schedule a follow up appointment. The girl at the deck said she'd call to schedule the appointment.

LOL! That was six weeks ago. :D
I get the feeling one of the side effects is the loss of a doctor!

I avoid medications with a longer disclaimer than explanation of desired effects.

Half of it comes down to extracting excess cash from my bank account.
Excess cash is apparently the root of most my ailments.

Once when my wife was at her doctor she mentioned that she had a toenail fungus. He said she could take something for it. Then he scheduled a bunch of blood tests. She asked whey, well, it was because the pills were hard on the liver. Her reply:

"So if this wrecks my liver, I'd have been better off just cutting my toe off!".

She declined the medication.

For her the fungus cleared up on it's own; now I have it!

I find it funny that the side effect list is usually read off by a woman with a very pleasant seductive voice. So vomiting, diarrhea, stroke,or heart attack and stroke doesn't SOUND so unpleasant.

What I get a real belly laugh out of is the irony of things...

Along comes some wonder cure - w/all the side effects & people are urged to discuss it with their doctor.

Then a few years later on TV there's some law firm drumming up clients for a class action suit against the makers of the drug!

I believe it's Adalimumab (funny I can't recall the trade name) that lists "Cancer" as one of the potential side effects. The drug is for Crohn's disease, and I'm sure that it's awful enough that people will take drugs with these potential side effects, but....we now have carcinogenic medicines? Wow.

Somewhat to do with drugs and side effects before I forget...

Last summer when I was in the hospital the nice nurse stopped by and asked how things were going. She asked about my sleeping at night. I told her with all the noises in the hall, machines that go bleep I didn't sleep well at all.

That night when the nurse came by with the night time pile of meds, there was a white capsule that hadn't been there before. I asked what it was. It was a sleeping pill. I pointed out to the nurse that one of the pills I had just taken was a laxative. I declined the sleeping pill. :p

AND NO, MYK RIAN I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP!
