Looking for Phenolic board, like you would use for a fence, is there a company out there that makes it 3/4 thick. I see 1/2 inch. Thanks for your help, Jimmy Tallent sawdust635@msn.com

Phenolic material is not typically used for fences in my 30 years wwing. Very pricey stuff. Even pro shops would use other materials.

Hi, McMaster Carr has it in thicknesses up to 2" in various grades. It is listed as Garolite on the website. www.mcmaster.com
take care,

Fencing - no, toilet stall enclosures - yes.

The fence I believe he was asking about is for his table saw/band saw/router table...

Woodcraft....and I'm sure others....sells baltic birch plywood faced with phenolic material.

I know exactly what he meant by fences. Never have I seen anyone use it for that application in 30 years of professional woodworking and machine rebuilding. It's very expensive stuff. Laminate on plywood would be the standard way to go and if you wanted to use good Plywood Russian or Baltic birch would be the way to go.

I've used Melamine (Mispelled) from Home Depot (about $25 for a 4'x8' sheet)for my home made fences. Slick surface and seems to hold up.

If you can find a commercial bathroom partition installer, they may be able to give you some scraps.

We install phenolic partitions in all of our schools now, it is the most vandal proof material out there.

Hope this helps.

This alternative has its attractions, but make sure you get a good sheet if you go this way. I have used this product for some projects but I find its thickness and flatness is a crapshoot.

I bought a 1/8 sheet of 1/2" phenolic to make ZCIs for my Jet and used it to make a fence for my router table - but, of course I'm not a pro.

Take a look at this company, Trespa (http://www.trespa.com/). I made a router table top out of the 1" thick Athlon that I had machined to my specs by WS Hampshire (http://www.wshampshire.com/index.html). It ended up rock solid, extremely dense, so no vibration, and exactly like the blueprint I worked up.
