I think we know what you'll be doing for the next two weeks ...

One consolation ... that middle part went pretty fast.

Hey Jack, believe it or not, I have a serious question!:) Do you intend to just cut up pieces to fill at the same 45°, or do you plan on striking a line, equidistant from each bordering wall and then run long lengths parallel to the wall for a border effect? Maybe even with a contrasting wood? Just curious.:)

john originally there would have been a 6" border of walnut. but since the distributer has increased the price of walnut(almost doubled since quote) looks like oak will be used instead.

sadly enough i just sold a porter cable 314 saw on ebay. it would have been perfect for the straight line cuts. guess ill pull out the skill saw from under the bench. it hasnt seen daylight since the mid 90's.....jack

Oh great, now I'm having flashbacks to the very first "home improvement" job I did when I moved into this house in 1979...with a plastic miterbox and a $5 saw.

I am thinking you need to put some angles on the ends of those boards so you can increase the length of many of your filler pieces... ;)
