ambroisa maple roughout

Roughed out this ambrosia maple bowl last night. It is about 11” across and 10” tall. Came from a large maple tree I had cut down last year in my back yard. I have done 5 hollow forms from the tree but this is the first bowl. Looking forward to how it turns out when I finish turn it.

Good looking rough-out and great wood! Suggest you round over the sharp edges for drying. Less apt to crack.

I'm with Dwight on this don't leave that sharp edge. A sharp edge will crack faster then a rounded one and alot of the time will crack if sharp and wont crack at all if rounded. Always round your edges.
