Nice looking wood. I picked up some wood from dead trees in orchard, but it has a lot of checks and rotten pith. I have a trunk section on the lathe that I put a walnut side grain base on with a recess to enclose the peach and a tenon to penetrate the peach bottom to replace the rotten pith. Hopefully it will hold to completion. I am wrapping the top outside with strapping tape to do the hollowing since the wood is so brittle. I hope the peach looks half as good as yours.
