And finally.....yes this is where all my tools and equipment were this morning. Now they are in a neighbors garage and in my driveway.....my children are hiding and Cheryl is considering divorce...or at least serious counseling. This can not be normal:D

Why do I continually think of these things:confused:

Oh well, it's gonna be really nice when I get done.

Terry,

I notice The Bench is still setting there. Couldn't find a forklift, huh? Man, you are a case. Maybe you oughta just go ahead and pad the floors and walls while you are at it! :D

I will look good though and just think how easy it will be to keep clean. :p

Have fun,
Bob

Von,

Doing it right ain't easy!!!! But hopefully it will be worth it. Spend most of the day cleaning, scrubbing, pressure washing, cussing, cleaning, scrubbing, cussing, pressure washing, cussing, scrubbing, pressure washing......2 gallons of acid, 10 mixed gallons of citrus cleaner that comes in the kits and 3 tanks of gas for the pressure washer later.....I think it is ready. I hope.

Bob,

I thought about asking if you wanted to come over and help move the bench, but I figured you might be busy.;)

I just jacked it up one end at a time with a floor jack and scotched the legs up a couple of inches so I could get under it. My back is killing me.....Honey, where are those muscle relaxers anyway.

She already knew I was NUTS.:D

Now I KNOW you are NUTS!!!!!! I know we were talking about all this Friday night and now look at you....!!!!!

Just so you will know.....I ain't gonna do that to MY shop.....Can't afford to buy the stuff to do it and besides that.....how can one afford to do 1,800 sq ft of concrete floor with little or no money? :-)

Can't wait to see it all done... ;-)

If he does pad the walls, will that stop rickochets from the table saw?

I think Terry is bucking for "Shop of the Year" award. At the rate he is going he might just make it.

I put epoxy on my shop floors and have never looked back. It is not as slick as everyone said that it might be either (unless there is excessive sawdust on the floor).
Light, bright and operating room clean when you sweep :-) I like it, but others think its overkill. I have concrete dust more than sawdust. It always seemed that you sweep and sweep and the next day it still looked dusty.
Its worth the effort Terry.

Ken,
Everybody knows that you never spill a drop of Bud Light.

Terry, I am waaaaay jealous of all the room that you have! What made you decide against the rubber flooring?

Bruce,

I would have needed 4 of the mats. That's over $600!!! No one had them is stock, so I would have had to pay freight also. Cutting and fitting the mats around all the equipment and horse stall mats seemed like a big job in it self.

I used 5 Epoxy Shield kits to do the whole shop. Tax and all $300. It was a bunch of work, but it is done and drying as we speak..er...type.

I'm really happy with the result. I'll post some pics in a bit.

Terry,

You said you used 5 epoxy kits. What is the square footage of the shop? Just wondering how many square feet per kit.

Von,

Rustoleum says each kit will cover 250 sq.ft. and that is exactly how much it covered for me. My shop is 1200 sq.ft. and I had just a tiny bit left over.

I had read on another forum that some folks had started off putting it down as thin as they could and then had quite a bit left over. This gave me some confidence to put it on fairly heavy right from the start. Wroked out perfect.

Terry,
I think you will be happier with the epoxy. The rubber mats just did not seem durable enough. I know they wouldn't survive in my world.

Looking forward to the pictures.
