I have several slabs of ash burl cut from the very bottom of the tree. The burl grow around the trunk and so when they were cut into slabs, there is the end grain of the trunk surrounded by burl. It looks awesome. Most around about 28-36 in. in diameter and pretty concentric. I have sealed them with anchorseal but I am concerned that they will split, check and crack themselves apart. I was thinking about brushing on (read saturating) then in pentacryle. Anyone with any experience with slabs, burls and stabilizers? They have been cut into roughly 3in slabs, and I want to retain most of the thickness. Any thoughts on what will preserve the burl the best would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping to turn most of these into coffee tables or perhaps wall hangings/clocks with the smaller ones. Thanks for your thoughts.

That's some potentially valuable wood to be using a slab of. Check out the prices on ebay. I have no experience drying it.
