Pepper tree wood any good?

I have 4 big pepper trees (schinus molle) in our front yard. They will be laced this Friday to control the overhang and one will be completely removed.
Is the wood any good for woodworking? I can ask the tree guy to leave me a couple of 6' long sections that I could resaw and dry if the wood is suitable for some projects. Otherwise he will haul away the big pieces as he says it is not good firewood and mulch the smaller stuff and leave it beside the house. Thanks.

Perhaps you could post this inquiry in the Turning section of The Creek?

From what I have read, I wonder if the log should be rendered into boards,
or retained for bowls?

It comes up in association with Olive and Myrtle, which make lovely cutting boards.
They're pretty hard, and polish to a high gloss.

I built a seating bench out of urban forrested Claifornia Pepper. It turned out well. Have him leave the trunk.

I used a lot of for turning when I lived in Az. Nice wood to work with. If you don't turn, why not slab it up.

Yeah, that tree looks like it should be an ogre tree at a theme park. But no, it is growing in the parking lot at a beer garden near my shop.
