Thanks Donnie,

Brought back memories of opportunity lost.

In 1968 I was Stationed at Andersen AFB, Guam in the 54th weather squadron. The CO came to me one day and asked if I would be interested in being recommended for a maintenance crew assignment for the Thunderbirds.

I was left with about two years on my enlistment and had already decided that a military career was not for me. Had I been chosen I would have been required to reenlist for another 4 year hitch. So I turned it down.

But I still wonder what might have been, but I don't regret the decision.

Peter

Thanks Donnie! I love the T-Birds, but being Navy, my heart belongs to the Blue Angels!:) Here's my favorite out of that gallery you posted ~ Too Cool!!

The first time I saw them they were in F-4's. The slot plane had a black tail due to flying so close to the engines of the #1 plane !!
