I have a CX-13 planer moulder (seems the same as G1037z and King KC-235PM). Because I'm cutting jatoba it needs
carbide knives - but Grizzly, Busybee, and King all only sell HSS sets.
Anyone know why? Is there something about the machine that makes using carbide a bad idea?
If there's no reason not to use carbide knives, anyone have recommendations on where to get them?
Woodcutters offered a set of 3 for $180 Cdn with the following note:
Unfortunately, we do not have this dimension [13" x 5/8 x 1/8] exactly but can offer you 13 1/16" x 5/8" x 1/8. Please check your machine if you have enough clearance so that the knives exceed the head on either side by 1/32" in length. If that does not work, we can have them grinded down for you so that they are 13" long. As we can offer you this service free of extra charge"
Does that make sense?
