I want to build a 2' x 2' x 5" pedestal for my power amplifier in my home theater. I have some mahogany MDF for the top, but will be using solid mahogany for the sides. What's the easiest way to do this, given I only have pipe clamps? Thanks!

Well..... If you only have pipe clamps, I can't figure out a way to cut miters with pipe clamps.:D

Cut 4 pieces solid mahogany both ends and one edge miter. Each piece 5" plus wide by 2 feet. Nice to have biscuits, domino or splines to strengthen end corner joints. Glue together squared. Cut your MDF ply slightly smaller than 2' x2' miter all four sides. Slightly smaller because you don't go thru veneer once finish sand. Glue and clamp top to 4 sided frame...no spines, biscuit or domino on the top. You may or may not use cleats on the inside corners. If you use cleats....you could eliminate the clamps all together.
