I have an opportunity to buy this band saw through a local online auction.
I am able to view it and have done so. I had them start the saw up and it runs but it threw the blade after starting up. I don't think that is a big concern to me.
I has a serial beginning with 88 and I assume that means it was made in 1988. It looks like it is in fair shape and has manuals and two blades.
There is no way to check on the history of this unit but it looks complete. I assume it needs new tires and maybe a new "link" belt. The upper wheel seems to run ok.
Is there anything specific to look for with these models that could be problematic. Something I could check without disassembly.
What would be a a good deal price wise. $150-250? I know that is hard to say and there is a risk but thought I'd ask.
It is similar to an ebay auction so I can put in a max bid.
I have never owned a band saw but always thought they would be a very handy tool to have.
