Hi All,

A while ago I picked up a Porter Cable Circular Saw, Model 447 Type 2. The blade bolt was broken off and the previous owner had tried to chase it with a drill, which broke also. I got it removed, but now I'm not sure of the thread, I know M8 x 1.25 & 5/16"-18 are very very similar threads, and both seem to engage for a few threads, but I don't want to ruin taps by trying the wrong one. Does anyone have a similar or the same saw that they can check the blade bolt thread for me?

Thanks, Ivan

Scroll to just below Fig# 63 and you'll see the blade bolt. However, clicking on that doesn't get you any further information.

I would call Porter-Cable to find out for sure OR just order that bolt and you'll be shipshape.

That's odd, i clicked on the link and it came up as 81 B for the bolt. 81 A and 81 C, outer and inner blade flanges, might be needed by the poster as well if they are missing.
