Greetings,

I'm looking for a small thinner dispenser for UnStik. Not sure if you can use plastic or not.
The company that imports these won't have any more in stock for a year?!

A few places on line out of Florida, has voice mails and won't return calls. I can't purchase from ebay
as there are some there. (Gov Regulations)

Help....

Thanks!

Marty

Thanks All!!! Some of the places drop ship from the supplier, that's why it's been so hard to find, since the distributer is backordered a year..

The Art Supply Warehouse did have a few! YeeHaa!

I use UnStik quite a bit as does our framing shop. It releases plates from mats etc without any visible damage. It's hard to find a smaller dispenser
to make application easier.

I can't tell you how long I have been trying to track this down.... Even the distributer was checking with resellers to see if they had any in stock.

Your help is much appreciated!

I don't know if this will handle that chemical...
http://www.menards.com/main/home-decor/crafts/craft-specialty-woodworking/fastcap-babe-bot-4-oz-glue-bottle/p-2200521-c-12188.htm
or

It has a pretty fine little tip and since its bottom fed, it may work ok. If the chemical doesn't disolve the plastic. But its only $5 to give it a try. They are real nice as you can get the tips inside biscuit slots (I hate handling glued biscuits). I know its not your purpose. Just throwing alternatives out there.

Mike, the thing that's nice about these is that it has a metal nozzle that can shut, so it keeps it from evaporating.

UnStik is fairly expensive at about $70 for a quart.

Would Unstik work to separate the bamboo coaster holder into individual parts?

I found these dispensers while looking for Unstik. They seem to be less expensive and in stock. Not sure how many they have. http://www.unitedmfrs.com/cart/detail.cfm?item=3645

I guess not nearly as high-tech as those other dispensers, but these are cheap, available anywhere they sell plastic, the jars come in different sizes and shapes, and each jar size has at least 2 tip sizes. You can put virtually anything in them, I've never found anything that will attack them. I use them for thinner, paint, acetone, whatever-- this one is for our acrylic adhesive. It's probably 15 years old! They're only "catch" is the needle caps, they're not an air-tight seal, so stuff that can evaporate WILL. We just put stuff in, and pour back any leftovers back in the original container...

Does it evaporate through the cap, or through the needle? Seems like it would be easy enough to cut
a gasket of some type if it comes through the cap. And a bit of window putty or non drying clay over
the needle should stop evaporation, or at least keep it in check

evaporates thru the needle- the needle cap snaps on, just isn't airtight. The main cap is fine. I've tried leaving paint in them trying gasket methods, the paint eventually dries anyway.

It depends on the adhesive. I use it mostly with double stick tape... The nice thing is with mat board or plaques you can remove a plate without damaging the board.

Most of the websites show it in stock. Most when I call say they are out of stock. Many have them dropped shipped.

There is one dist in the US and they are back ordered for a year. The one company that was recommended here had 11 in stock. He said it has been years since he sold one.
I guess I should have negotiated a price.... ;)
