Hi all

just rehabbed a 190. Any tips on blade adjustment? Taps with a small plane hammer?

On this type of plane, I usually set the lever cap just tight enough to stay in place and hold the iron, then manipulate it with thumb and forefinger while sighting along the sole. Then tighten the cap and recheck. It takes practice.

My planes like this are adjusted with taps from a small plane hammer. Tap the blade to depth, tap the planes heel to retract.

It is also my practice to get the blade as sharp as is possible. Once you have it cutting in its sweet spot you do not want to take the blade out a moment before it is necessary.
