This is a craft/beading table for LOML, just before finishing...

The top is white oak, mostly qtr sawn, apron and legs is red oak, bread board is paduk, purple heart inlay as a transition between paduk and oak (thought it looked cool) and 3 heart inlay's of Africal Tulip wood... the center kinda looks like jupiter  The top is fastened with figure eights.

I'm not real happy with the inlays, need more practice.

Jim,

I like it...the mix of wood is interesting, too! What are your plans for a finish?

Jim - looks good! Clean, a lighter look - but certainly sturdy... Don't sweat your mistakes - we don't see any!!

Show us again after the finish - it will really glow!!!

Jim,

I believe you are about to make you wife a very happy woman. That is a great looking job. I like you use of various woods and the design itself.

Thanks everyone!

Jim,

Chris, Simple finish. 2 coats of seal-a-cell clear, rubbed with #0000 steel wool and then a build up of at least 5 coats of arm-r-seal, again with the #0000 Steel wool in between.

Since she will be beading and it'll be a work surface, I wanted something durable and something that would really bring out the grain and contrasts.

I have the first coat of seal-a-cell on now and it's drying... what a huge difference. The top sprang alive with depth and the awesome rays of the qtr'd wo.
