My Porter cable 333 orbital sander turns slow. The brush's look good, the bearings spin fine, the wires on plug end are good, no difference when I wiggle the cord. What would make it turn slow ?
I have 4 total of these, 1 works has a slight vibration. I am going to leave it alone as I need one to keep working.

Did you take it apart at one point just before the sander starts running slow??? There's a couple cardboard like insulator piece near the brush connections (I think) that falls out. I reckon once these falls out there some sort of electrical interference. I have four or five over those collecting dust  Using something else.

No it slowed down on it's own. What are you using now ?

I discarded my failed PC 333 and bought a Ridgid orbital sander.

It performs great!

Bill, my wallet wont recognize that brand. My hardwood supplier has it & loves it.

I've never had any luck with PC. I've learned - the hard way - to go with DeWalt.
