Here is a simple trestle style bench with a QUILTED seat (QUILTING by my wife)
I wish that I invented the TRESTLE STYLE I think that it is a fabulous design strong
yet simple.

Thanks for the nice comments. The finish is Boiled Linseed Oil.

Nicely done. I agree with you on the elegance of trestle designs. If you haven't PWW has a great article by Chris Schwarz about making a Shaker Trestle table. The placement of the trestle is key to the strength of the design.

Thank you Prashun I found and read the article. I put the trestle low as to show the figure. Birdseye is my favorite.
This is a seat and only about 20 inches tall. (I made it high for ease of sitting and getting up) The keepers in the
trestle are Oak Burl and pull the bench together to be very stable. I must get around to doing some research as to
the origins of the trestle style. I have a big piece of Walnut that has TRESTLE written all over it.

Very well done. When I saw the thread title I was expecting a workbench! I believe this tree will appreciate how well you have used the wood. Also your use of the quilted seat gives me a great idea of how I can merge my hobby with my wife's!
