This was done to show getting a 16"L x 12 - 3/4" W x 4 - 1/4"H long oval natural edge bowl out of a 14"D section. The same can also be one cutting pie shape sections (1/3 or even less) out of much larger diameter log sections. One good thing about the long oval is that it takes less shelf width for support, but gives the visual of a larger piece. The pine was dead wood and had problems with tear out. Currently only sanded and buffed with dry Tripoli wheel waiting decision on final finish. Not a trophy piece, but utility for fruit, yarn, or mail.
