Tinted lacquer Question

I am finishing some kitchen cabinets and using Deft semi gloss tinted with some Trans Tint dye, I have the color looking just right; now I want to top coat them. Can I just use more Deft that is un tinted? And how long should I wait for the tinted lacquer to dry? I really dont want to change the color any so would I, or could I top coat with a water based lacquer?
