Ripped up some old carpeting in the hallway that happens to be in front of our Front Load Washing machine. As I was taking it up, there must have been some liquid laundry detergent that spilled in front of the washing machine and had soaked into the carpet. (Thought I had that all cleaned up before !!:( ) Well, I decided to vacuum the hardwood floor and then I wet mopped it . OH, THERE WAS SUDS COMING OUT OF THE HARDWOOD FLOOR IN FRONT OF THE WASHER WHERE THE SPILL TOOK PLACE !!!!:eek: Got all the floor cleaned up and suds free everywhere else, but 4 buckets later, and I am still soaking up some suds where the spill took place.

Any suggestions on getting this cleaned up ? I didn't know soap could soak into 100 year old Red Oak Hardwood Flooring like that!! It's about a 24" x 24" area that I am having difficulty with.

Thanks,

Kitty litter should work. And then use peroxide for any staining. Might have to sand the entire area though. I'm a flooring guy by trade.
