Acrylic paint on Poplar

I am building 21 church replicas out of poplar. One of the church ladies is going to paint doors, windows etc. with acrylics. Do I need to spray with something to prevent the acrylic from bleeding or will this be a problem?

A coat of gesso or hide glue will help prevent bleeding & give the final surface a nice even hold out (same sheen across the whole surface).
