This little guy is a Redwood lace burl box with a Maple burl and 38mm Carnelian cabochon embellishment. The box measures about 4" across and 1.5" tall.

She's a beauty! I like the mixing of mediums and the form appears to be one that you have come close to replicating in several of the pieces you have recently posted. Nice, very nice!

Looking good Ed---Got a question---How are you signing the bottoms is that engraved.
Looks better than useing a Sharpie.

I was curious about that too. Are you concerned about "wear"....You know...from being thrown around in the cupboard and in and out of the dishwasher and stuff :D

I learned how to sign pieces properly from Bonnie Kline. She uses a hand-held electric Dremel engraver. But the real trick is to do it under magnification...using Mag-Eyes or something similar.
