I have some sapele that I dyed a few months ago that has been sitting around my garage. It has gotten a little dusty and I need to clean it. Should I just use mineral spirits or will that affect the dye? I dont have any of the dye mixed up any more and I forgot the ratio that I used to get this color.

Why not try distilled water, first?

If it's just dusty, the less you do - the better.

I can suggest what not to do. Do not use a micro fiber cloth or one of those dust brushes with micro fiber bristles, the fibers get caught in micro pours in the wood and stick straight up. I learned this the hard way, no good way to remove them.

If it's only dusty use compressed air or vacuum followed by a soft cloth.

What did you dye it with? Don't use the same solvent as the dye to clean it.

I vote vaccuum as well.
