I've been lurking this forum (as most do) for some time now and enjoying the information available here! I'm a relatively new wood-worker with a few small projects under my belt.

Here is my question:

I have very nice, custom red oak cabinets throughout my home that are "limed". I have also heard them referred to as "pickled" or white-washed. I would like to know what my options are for changing the appearance of these to something darker and perhaps more "classic". Obviously it would be quite expensive to replace all the doors and face frames. The finishes were done professionally 11 years ago via some type of spray-on finish when the house was being built. If it would help, I could post pics. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

P.S. I'm about finished with a project and will post pics when complete.

I just realized that I probably should have posted this to the finishing forum. Ken, can you move this thread if appropriate?
