Quick question. I have the air compressor plumbed throughout my workshop. I would like to extend it to an air drop outside near the driveway for working on the cars. The line would be run under the porch to the outlet mounted on one of the corner posts. What are my options for running the air line outside and leaving it installed and using it during the winter?

I have a line that is run outside and have had no problems with it have used it for 20 years now in the Cleveland Ohio area

I'd slope it up, so that any water that accumulates in it will stay down low in a non-freeze worry spot.

Jerome,

What did you use for the plumbing?

I'd use black iron pipe, and keep it painted. It's code for gas lines around here. I once had to spend a hot afternoon on a commercial roof painting gas pipe to get it done quick because it hadn't passed inspection.

I wouldn't trust any sort of plastic pipe that's exposed to the elements.
