After years of using a crappy table, and discovering we are having twins making our family five, I decided to show off my manliness and make my own table....on a budget.
My wife gave me her wish list, which has now changed and causing problems ill describe below. I've made the top (36x70) out of red oak, regretting, but I'm stuck. Instead of going with a golden stain, my wife has picked out an espresso calbot stain. Ok, i wouldn't have picked red oak knowing that but a happy pregnant wife is my goal.
So, my question now comes to the legs. With that stain color, can I go with pine or ash? Fwiw, I'm looking at waddell 29" country pine legs at lowes. Due to a unfortunate car calamity, now needing to buy a new one, I'm operating on a Shie string budget. If I can figure out how to attach pics from my phone ill do that.
