Handling stacks of DVD cases is a nuisance because they are slippery - even a stack of two. Is there a simple way to make them no-skid?

Liquid sandpaper?

Wrap rubber bands around them? - in dry climate of souther NM, rubber bands don't last long.

That's a good solution for DVDs I don't intend to watch anymore. However, there are DVD cases that contain several DVDs. One doesn't necessarily want to watch all the DVDs in one DVD case before picking a DVD from another case. So there is often a stack of DVD cases around the DVD player. You can store them in a shelf, however manipulating slippery DVD cases in and out of a shelf is also a nuisance.
