Here is a recent completed piece that I took with me to the AAW Symposium in Phoenix. Sadly I had to take it back home too! :)

I tried a different approach with this one. Instead of super thin everywhere and tipsy if anything was put in it, I drilled a 7/8" hole down to the bottom and only thinned the collar area for the piercing effect. I actually like the extra weight of this for stability and this is the first time I didn't use my usual "squiggles" for my piercing pattern. I also kinda like this pierced look and will likely utilize it in future pieces. Hat tip to Wally Dickerman for the inspiration.

Silver maple, 6 1/2" x 3 1/4" finished with multiple coats of tung oil and Ren wax.

Comments and such are always welcome, thanks.

Scott, that's a beautiful piece and is in keeping with your style. I, too, like the shape of the piercings. Although, I also like your "squiggles", too.

Scott, that is a great looking piece, I really like it, a real standout, something I would try if I ever got a piercing tool, this would be my first project.

Excellent piece and I remember it being a real attention getter in Phoenix. Seems I remembered seeing the pierced goblet as well. What do you use to do your piercings?
