Small portable chip extractor or central extractor?

I have two machines that I need to hook up to the dust extractor, both doesn't require a lot of extraction, one is a mortiser and one is a bandsaw.

I am contemplating if I would be better off in buying a small 1hp 45lbs portable dusty or use my existing 5hp/4kw central system? The cost of electricity here is 20 cents per kWh, the power bill to run the central unit 300 hours will roughly be the cost of purchasing the small dusty.

I use the mortiser once a week each time is about 2-3 hours, bandsaw is much less, probably 1 hour a week

Hi Albert, with a payback of 2 to 3 years minimum, I wouldn't bother with a second small system which will probably have a poor filter on it............Rod.
