Closing in on completion. Added the Brazillian Rosewood base ring today and am really happy with the whole look. Both woods came from the "old wood turner" that I'm making this for and that is why I wanted to use them both together. I'm hoping to buff this out tomorrow and give my friend a call so I can go and give this to him.
For what it's worth. .... I don't do as much turning as I would like to, but I always enjoy making a piece more when I have a recipient in mind instead of just turning something that will go on the shelf and will eventually be given to someone. It really gives me the time to think about that person and all the different things I've done with them or learned from them etc as I'm working on it. But that's just me and don't get me wrong I would happily turn pieces all day long to go on one of my shelves also!
