A couple of re-worked pieces

These are a couple of pieces that I've had sitting around in different states of unfinish, and decided to rework them with different coloring and bases.

Black on Black stippled waves 5 x 8, started with protruding elements that split, so turned flush, stippled and dyed black.

Mesquite Open Wave Bowl - Added curved base. Bowl is 3 x 10

Mesquite Bowl on Mesquite Base - Trying for simultaneous compliment and contrast with the base. Bowl is 5 x 9

John, I've always liked your work. I really like the Open Weave Bowl's base. I does a great job of presenting the bowl and complements the bowl's curves without competing with them .

Black on black is a great save. Nice subtle contrast in texture. The tilted piece while is interesting, but as a turner my eye gets distracted by the bowl's tenon base. The third is my favorite. The base is strong, complimentary to the form without competing. Great job on all three. You work is always a pleasure to view and admire.
