Even though I lived in Cleveland at the time I do not remember it. Probably something to do with the fact I was a toddler.

I found this part of the Wikipedia article funny...

NBC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBC) newscaster Tim Russert (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Russert), then a student at the Cleveland–Marshall College of Law (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleveland%E2%80%93Marshall_College_of_Law), attended the game. "I went with $2 in my pocket," recalled the Meet the Press (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meet_the_Press) host. "You do the math."

LOL! Oh yeah,,,,,$2 was plenty to get in & get falling down wasted.

Admission to the bleacher seats was only $.50!

What a game! Thanks for the memories. I wasn't in attendance, though at the time I hoped our Twinkies would have a similar promotion..

Ya but honestly, it was american beer. Back then your beer was as close to water as a beer without being legally bound to call it water.

LOL!
Even moreso than you think Brian!

In 1974, the drinking age in Ohio was still 18 for so called "low beer" - 3.2%.
You could still get good and hammered on 3.2 beer though. It just took more & longer. :)
