An article in Fine Woodworking Dec. 1991, No. 91 by R. Raffan, showing how to make a scoop, had a lasting impression on me. His drawings showed a numbered cutting sequence that I thought was theoretical and not possible but oh how satisfying when you can at least come close!

I would hate to come up with "royalty fees" for the items learned from his open sharing. Year after year these scoops alone always pay for vendor fees so thanks Richard R.

Hayes. At the time the article appeared I made a couple of these and we still use them today.

Hayes, how much do you charge for scoops?

Brian, between 10 and 20 depending on wood quality and size.
