I will soon get a set of 1/2" Kelton hollowing tools. I see the recommendation to touch it up with a Diamond card / file / hone instead of using my grinding wheel. I see these from 40 grit through 600. What grit should I use for the Keltons?

Kel tole me that the coarser the better, so 220 if you have it. I have one of The CBN ones from D Way, and the 'coarse' side is 320. It works fine. I guess the idea is that the coarser stone raises a better burr.

I have used my 180 CBN wheel and I do get a good burr which I will knock back if I think it is too aggressive for going thin or soft woods. I will touch them up manually with diamond files/cards which are 220 or 400 whichever I find first. I love my keltons
