The rim looks great! Not a fan of the blue color, I like earth tones for coloring. But apparently lots of people love it or it wouldn't have been chosen. Good work!

Pete, it's a beauty! I can't recall having seen blue like this in coastal pieces; mostly its red, black, and yellow. What wood did you use, and is that a heron?

Hey Mike. You are correct that blue was not used that often by the early people of the coast. I am certainly not an expert and am not attempting to copy process or color. I usually do what I like and I thought that the blue just might give an extra 'pop' to the already beautiful Maple. The pyro is a Humming Bird although like you it looks more like a Heron.
