View Full Version : Another X4 issue, text imported from DXF files

I recently upgraded to X4, even tho I was perfectly happy with X3- However, I like X4 except for ONE problem, which is: Text imported from DXF files is not centered...

Pics are of a portion of the same exact file emailed to me last year, first pic is how it opened in X3.
Notice how all the text above the holes is centered:

The is how the same exact file opens in X4:

"Override Anticollision" is within a text frame which is why it's centered. Getting framed text is rare, and I get DXF files from several customers, and the same problem exists with any DXF file...

Is there some setting that I can't find that will correct this? Gets to be pretty time consuming to have to re-center every single word!

If there IS no fix, X4 is going bye-bye. The changes I like aren't worth the time I must spend re-aligning text...

Thanks in advance! :)

Kev,

Have you tried WMF format? Ask your customer to export file as WMF and see if that corrects the issue.
I've had similar problems with X3. Now that I have upgraded to X6 I get much better results.

I prefer .PLT files over .DXF

Have them supply the file as a .PDF I do lots of intricate SLD's for Solar electric companies, all created in .dxf, but exported for me as .pdf's and I have never had a problem yet.
