The neighbor a couple houses down decided to cut down their big Magnolia tree.
I drove by and noticed it all stacked on a trailer ready to go to the dump. I asked him if I could have the big pieces, and proceeded to help him clean up. We dropped the bigger pieces off in my driveway. Here is what I have cut up so far.

Nice looking grain on that wood. I only apply anchorseal/sealant to the ends of the wood, which allows the wood to dry out slowly. It would take a lot longer to dry out if you sealed the inside as well as the ends. JMHO.

A friend of mine gave me smaller pieces of magnolia wood last fall. I put some away and turned a coupleof wine goblits, turns real well. I will be turning more soon. When I get home I'll find the photos of them.
